Getting Melbourne locksmiths found on Google and named by AI

Nobody plans to need a locksmith. They're standing outside a locked door, phone in hand, typing “locksmith near me open now”. Whoever turns up first with a number that works usually gets the job.

What Melbourne customers actually type

These are real searches, taken from Google's Australian autocomplete on 2 October 2026. Three things stand out:

  • The searches describe the emergency: “locked out of house Melbourne”, “locked out of apartment Melbourne”, “locked out of car Melbourne”. Each one is a different job and a different search.
  • “Open now” and “now” get added on. The hours on your Google profile have to be right, because showing as closed when you are open loses the call.
  • Car keys are their own market. “Car key replacement Melbourne cost” and “car locksmith Melbourne” are searched separately from house lockouts.
  • locksmith melbourne
  • locksmith melbourne cbd
  • locksmith near me open now
  • locksmith near me now
  • locked out of house melbourne
  • locked out of apartment melbourne
  • locked out of car melbourne
  • car locksmith melbourne
  • car key replacement melbourne
  • car key replacement melbourne cost
  • cheap locksmith melbourne
  • locksmith melbourne reviews
  • locksmith melbourne cost

Autocomplete shows what people type, not how often they type it, so there are no search volumes on this page. Anyone quoting you exact numbers for searches this specific should be able to show you where they came from.

What I'd do for locksmiths

It starts with your Google profile set to the right category — for locksmiths that's Locksmith — and then:

  • Accurate hours on your Google profile, including after-hours if you do it. Wrong hours lose the “open now” searches.
  • Separate services for house lockouts, car lockouts and lock changes, written the way customers say them.
  • Your phone number the same everywhere it appears, so the number a stressed customer finds actually rings you.

Every month, all six

  • Your Google profilecategories, services, photos, posts and questions, kept current
  • Reviewsa one-tap request system for you, and I reply to every review
  • Directory listingsthe same name, address and phone everywhere, no conflicting entries
  • Your websitea page for each service and the details Google and AI look for
  • A suburb or service pageadded or refreshed every month
  • A monthly reportwhat I did and what changed, against last month

What it costs

Free

The visibility check. Real answers from three AI assistants, on screen.

$500

The audit, once. 39 checks, a priority list and a 90-day plan. Yours to keep.

$400/mo

I do the work. No lock-in, cancel any month.

Google profile changes usually show in 2 to 6 weeks. Closing a review gap takes 2 to 4 months. AI answers typically start shifting in 1 to 3 months. Those are typical timeframes, not promises.

More calls from your Google listing within 90 days, or you stop paying until there are. I can't promise the calls will come, because Google and ChatGPT decide who they show. What I can promise is that you won't keep paying if they don't. They're counted from your own Google profile, so you can check them yourself, and they lead your report every month. The full terms are on the monthly plan page.

Questions locksmiths ask me

Why does my phone number matter so much?

Because a locked-out customer rings the first number they find. If an old directory listing has a different number, that call goes nowhere. Getting your details consistent across every listing fixes it.

Do I need a website if most of my work is emergencies?

For emergency work your Google profile matters most. A simple site still helps with the planned jobs, like lock changes after moving house, where customers take a minute to compare.

Can you guarantee I'll show up first?

No. Nobody controls that. I do the work that decides it, every month, and show you what changed.
