Getting Melbourne plumbers found on Google and named by AI

When a pipe bursts at 11pm, nobody scrolls. They type “24 hour plumber Melbourne” or ask their phone, and ring one of the first names they see. This page is about being that name.

What Melbourne customers actually type

These are real searches, taken from Google's Australian autocomplete on 2 October 2026. Three things stand out:

  • Urgency is right there in the words. “Emergency”, “24 hour”, “urgent” and “open now” all show up. Someone typing those will ring whoever answers first.
  • People search by the brand of hot water system they own: Rheem, Rinnai, Bosch. If your profile and site only say “hot water”, you can miss the customer who knows exactly what's on their wall.
  • Some add “reddit” to the end. They want a recommendation from a real person before they trust an ad, which is exactly what AI assistants now try to give them.
  • plumber melbourne
  • emergency plumber melbourne
  • 24 hour plumber melbourne
  • urgent plumber melbourne
  • plumber near me open now
  • plumber near me free quote
  • plumber melbourne eastern suburbs
  • plumber melbourne cranbourne
  • hot water system replacement melbourne
  • hot water repairs melbourne
  • rheem hot water service melbourne
  • rinnai hot water service melbourne
  • gas plumber melbourne
  • plumber melbourne reddit

Autocomplete shows what people type, not how often they type it, so there are no search volumes on this page. Anyone quoting you exact numbers for searches this specific should be able to show you where they came from.

The questions your customers ask ChatGPT

These are the exact questions the free check sends to ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini for plumbers, with your suburb filled in. The check records whether you're named in each answer, and who is named instead.

  1. best emergency plumber in your suburb, Melbourne
  2. who should I call for a blocked drain in your suburb, Melbourne
  3. recommend a reliable plumber near your suburb, Melbourne
  4. I need a hot water system replacement in your suburb, Melbourne - who do you recommend?
  5. top rated plumbers in your suburb, Melbourne
  6. looking for an honest plumber around your suburb, Melbourne, any recommendations?
  7. who's the best plumber in your suburb, Melbourne for a burst pipe
  8. is there a good local plumber in your suburb, Melbourne that works weekends?

What I'd do for plumbers

It starts with your Google profile set to the right category — for plumbers that's Plumber — and then:

  • Your Google profile set to the Plumber category, with every service written the way customers search for it: “hot water system replacement”, not just “hot water”. If you service particular brands, they're named.
  • Emergency and after-hours availability stated clearly everywhere it applies, so a “24 hour plumber” search has something true to match. If you don't do after-hours, it says so, and we go after the planned work instead.
  • Pages for the suburbs and regions you actually work. Customers search “plumber Melbourne eastern suburbs” and “plumber Melbourne Cranbourne”, not only “plumber Melbourne”.

Every month, all six

  • Your Google profilecategories, services, photos, posts and questions, kept current
  • Reviewsa one-tap request system for you, and I reply to every review
  • Directory listingsthe same name, address and phone everywhere, no conflicting entries
  • Your websitea page for each service and the details Google and AI look for
  • A suburb or service pageadded or refreshed every month
  • A monthly reportwhat I did and what changed, against last month

What it costs

Free

The visibility check. Real answers from three AI assistants, on screen.

$500

The audit, once. 39 checks, a priority list and a 90-day plan. Yours to keep.

$400/mo

I do the work. No lock-in, cancel any month.

Google profile changes usually show in 2 to 6 weeks. Closing a review gap takes 2 to 4 months. AI answers typically start shifting in 1 to 3 months. Those are typical timeframes, not promises.

More calls from your Google listing within 90 days, or you stop paying until there are. I can't promise the calls will come, because Google and ChatGPT decide who they show. What I can promise is that you won't keep paying if they don't. They're counted from your own Google profile, so you can check them yourself, and they lead your report every month. The full terms are on the monthly plan page.

Questions plumbers ask me

Do plumbers really get work from ChatGPT?

Some customers now ask an AI assistant instead of searching, especially “who should I call” questions. How many varies by suburb and job, and nobody can honestly give you a percentage. The free check can tell you something more useful: whether you're named when they do ask.

I already get plenty of emergency calls. Why bother?

Emergency work is the most fought-over search there is. The planned jobs, like hot water replacements and renovations, are where customers compare before they call, and comparing is exactly what AI assistants are built to do.

Can you get me to number one for “plumber Melbourne”?

No, and be careful of anyone who says they can. Nobody controls Google's rankings or what an AI recommends. What I can do is the work that decides it, every month, and show you what changed.
